7 June 26 | Disappointment | Matt 9:9-13,18-26
As we begin to read from Matthew - we are faced with three different stories dealing with questionable life choices, social exclusion and death.
These continue to be things that we struggle with today. The human experience is one where life doesn't go as you planned. Our world can be full of disappointment.
One thing here that we do know & the only promise we are given is that we won't be left alone. In the middle of our struggles God is there.
The challenge for this week is not to hide from the presences of Jesus but to turn around and see Jesus offering his hand to follow him.
Prayers & Psalms
Each Sunday, prior to the sermon we have created a space for more voices from our community; One of our children read a Psalm either from the Lectionary or for younger children, from ‘Psalms for Young Children’ by Marie-Hélène Delval.
Followed by a prayer, shared by a member of our congregation, focused around what's happening in the world, our country and our community. We have included some of these on our Prayers Pagefor you to revisit and reflect on the words that they shared.
