Today’s Service
Carolyn and family are in Samoa this week, and we have our Curate Cassie standing in to preach for us. She will soon be returning to work as our Community Events & Pastoral Care Coordinator after welcoming the birth of her first child.
Continuing with John Chapter 6, Cassie asks us to take a moment and think about a moment in the past week where we felt particularly close to God.
When we let distractions consume us, we end up putting God second and pushing the bread of life to the side.
Today the challenge is for us consider what are we putting first in our lives? That is edging out our time with God and how might that be affecting our spiritual lives.

Our family will be away for the next two Sundays, but we have two wonderful guest speakers lined up:
Sun 25th Aug | Cassie Kamunaga. Our wonderful Curate, who will soon be returning to work as our Community Events & Pastoral Care Coordinator after welcoming the birth of her first child.
Sun 1st Sept | Rev Mike Hawke. A big welcome to Mike Hawke who is sharing at our All Saints services this morning. Mike Is an absolute legend who led St Christophers in Avonhead for twenty years. He had a phenomenal ministry there. More recently Mike has been the Dean of the Nelson Cathedral.

Thank you to all those who have given something. We are hoping every household can contribute something, no matter how small.
Meals & Pantry Items
We are in need of a few more cooked meals to have on hand to deliver to households needing some extra support or encouragement. If you can cook a meal, freeze it, then bring it into church we can deliver as needed.
We also need to restock our pantry, that allows us to make up food parcels for those in need: tinned fruit, tomatoes, spaghetti, baked beans, soups, chick peas, creamed rice, cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, muesli bars, chips, biscuits, chocolate, lemonade, crackers and jelly. Gluten free options are always handy too!
Tech Team
We would love to find some new people to join our Sunday Service Tech Team.
Get involved in this awesome team, where you can work behind the scenes to produce the livestream video and livestream sound for our Sunday Service.
