Today’s Service
This Sunday we continue to read from John Chapter 6 and share Communion.
Reflecting on the controversial opening Olympics ceremony and the famous expression from John in this chapter: you are what you eat, we are remined of something incredible:
"Jesus says, 'Take this and eat it. This is my body, more broken, than even your brokenness. This is my blood, poured out to give you new life.'
And it’s bigger than just us, of course. In any place where justice is being withheld, where peace is being denied, where fear is being leveled, where death appears to be winning – Jesus would say, “Eat me.” And he would mean it." Mark Havel
The Challenge here is to ask what are you consuming? To understand that what you consume becomes who you are, and the invitation for what you consume to be Jesus.

Behind the scenes there has been a lot of progress on our new building, we have made a number of decisions this week, always with the goal of being the best stewards of our resources as possible.
We are so thankful for those who have chosen to partner with us on the building by buying items from our Gift Registry. It is amazing to see people from the wider community and other churches buy items to help us finish our build.
To be part of this exciting project visit out Gift Registry or visit our New Build page. There is absolutely no item to small for you to contribute. The most important thing is for us all to take part.
Some people have asked what the total figure we are aiming for is, but what we really want is more than a figure. It is for every household to contribute something for the new space, whether it be a item from the gift registry, a donation or time. So far about 1/2 of our regular members have contributed in some way. We’d love for everyone to be involved.
What an incredible night we had on Friday! Our Quiz Night raised over $4200 for our new community space fit out. We also had people by from the Gift Registry during the night.
A big thank you to Guy and Tara for running the night, all those who donated items and everyone that attended.
We have now raised over $24,000 through the proceeds from the Quiz Night and through Gift Registry purchases.
Conversation about the Treaty is happening all around us. There is an important opportunity right now to dive into our shared story so that we know our place to stand and how we can belong, wherever our ancestors came from.
'Belonging in this land: Treaty basics from a Christian perspective' is an opportunity for our faith community to explore the story of the Treaty of Waitangi over two 90-minute video sessions. Whether you know a lot, or a little, let’s be curious together.
Brought to us by Common Grace Aotearoa in partnership with Karuwhā Trust and Te Manu Hononga - the Sir Paul Reeves Centre, we will hear from expert presenters, including Dean of Taranaki Cathedral Jay Ruka and former Anglican Archbishop David Moxon, to help you refresh or expand your knowledge.
